Johnny Depp's Lawyer Camille Vasquez Receiving Heat For Choosing To Represent Kanye West
Camille Vasquez, Johnny Depp's lawyer, is supposedly Kanye West's new lawyer.
According to TMZ, the 45-year-old engaged the celebrity lawyer with her company, Brown Rudnick. This comes after the "Donda" rapper received a lot of backlash for a slew of anti-Semitic slurs made online and in interviews.
However, Kanye's hire of Camille has not gone over well with the latter, with users on social media criticizing her for even agreeing to represent him.
Kanye is well-known for publicly slamming his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and aggressively abusing her online, including her then-boyfriend Pete Davidson.
When word got out that Camille was representing Kanye, one individual wrote, "It's giving choose me for abusive and problematic men."
Camille also defended Johnny Depp in his high-profile defamation action against ex-wife Amber Heard, who claimed they were both defamed.
The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor won the trial and was given $10 million in damages, but the "Aquaman" actress only earned $2 million.
Camille stood out throughout the trial, with many fans wondering if she and Johnny Depp had secretly started dating. Finally, it was established that they did not have a romantic relationship.
"She has a certain sort of client," another observed of Camille, while another claimed, "She truly enjoys defending abusive men."
"She'll be Trump's lawyer before you know it," a fourth individual predicted.
Fans, on the other hand, are baffled as to why Kanye West chose Camille Vasquez in the first place.
Fans assume Camille will defend Kanye in his divorce procedures with Kim Kardashian, as well as in a future fight against Gap or Balenciaga, after the latter terminated relations with him.
According to TMZ, Camille will instead be part of a legal team defending his enterprises, including work linked to his contract and transactions.
Before this information about his new lawyer broke, fashion label Balenciaga announced that it was cutting ties with the "All of the Lights" rapper.
"Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any intentions for future initiatives associated to this artist," the brand's parent company, Kering, told Women's Wear Daily on Friday.
Aside from being fired by the premium fashion business, the revelation follows a string of outbursts from the "Eazy" hitmaker, which appears to have begun with him presenting a "White Lives Matter" shirt during Paris Fashion Week.
Meanwhile, Balenciaga will continue to collaborate with Kim Kardashian on the rapper.
According to The Sun, the "Life of Pablo" hitmaker is "hurt" by this since he is trying to become a recognized figure in fashion and his close group.
"His involvement with Balenciaga has significantly benefited the brand, but they have opted not to collaborate with him in the foreseeable future."
