Titanic Exploration Submarine Goes Missing in the Atlantic with at Least Five On Board
A Titanic tourist submarine has gone missing with up to five passengers on board.
A submarine has been a known and incredibly expensive tourist trip, allowing those that can purchase a ticket the opportunity to see the notorious shipwreck at in person at the bottom of the sea. Several groups have gone to see this piece of history, located now at the depths of the sea off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada.
However, this most recent exploration has be fraught. This submarine has now gone missing in the Atlantic ocean. A search and rescue mission has begun in an attempt to rescue all that are on the submarine. It is known that at least five passengers are currently on the vessel.
The submarine belongs to a group titled Oceangate Expiditions. The declared in a statement that, "Our entire focus is on the crew members in the submersible and their families. We are deeply thankful for the extensive assistance we have received from several government agencies and deep sea companies in our efforts to reestablish contact with the submersible. We are working toward the safe return of the crew members."
It is not known for certain how many people are on board the craft. It is known that one of the passengers is British explorer Hamish Harding. All are working to get all of the crew members and passengers safely back to land. Our hearts go out to all of those on board and the families of those who are on board the submarine at this time.
