'The Middle' Alum Eden Sher Prepares for her One-Woman Show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival: 'I Was on a Sitcom'
Eden Sher is ready to make her mark on this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival with her one woman show I Was on a Sitcom.
In a whirlwind of laughter and nostalgia, Eden Sher, the vivacious starlet known for her unforgettable role in the hit sitcom The Middle, is set to grace the stages of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with her captivating one-woman show, I Was on a Sitcom. A title that instantly evokes chuckles and curiosity, Sher's performance promises to be a heartfelt journey through the highs and lows of her life in the spotlight.
As the lights dim and the spotlight finds its mark, Sher invites the audience to join her on a rollercoaster ride through the surreal experience of being part of a beloved television sitcom. With anecdotes that are equal parts endearing and hilarious, she regales her fans with behind-the-scenes tales, sharing intimate moments of camaraderie with her co-stars and the challenges of growing up in the public eye.
According to an article on Playbill, Sher ideated the show when, after both starring on a well-loved sitcom and, afterwards, going through a tumultuous pregnancy, she knew she had a lot to say. "I want to do a show. I don't know what it's gonna be. But I want to be on stage. And I want to be talking the whole time. I want to be talking to the audience. I have so much to say. I have so many thoughts and feelings."
Though her life story is incredibly unique, many have found comfort and solace in the artist's performance and words. She continued to share with Playbill:
"Nobody talks about postpartum. Nobody talks about just actual labor. Nobody talks about how insane being pregnant is, going into labor, giving birth to a child, having a C section, and then months or maybe a year, years postpartum. Nobody talks about how fucked it all is. How crazy it is. Everyone's just like, 'Oh, yeah, you had a job. And now you're a mom.' And, actually, it's not like that at all!...So few people have had twins and have grown up on a television set. And somehow people are like, 'It really resonated with me. Maybe it is even more basic. Just, like, everyone has had a period of their life that sucked that they can't quite articulate."
We wish Eden Sher the best of luck on her show!
