Happy Birthday Steve Martin!
Today, the world celebrates as iconic star Steve Martin celebrates is 78th birthday. The Only Murders in the Building star has had an incredible career. He is something of a giant in the world of comedy. While Martin was never an official cast member on the well-known late night show, he has hosted Saturday Night Live an unbelievable 15 times. He has entertained generations in delightful films such as The Pink Panther, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Now he continues to entertain the world in the critically acclaimed Hulu show, Only Murders in the Building.
Through his time in the world of comedy and performance, Martin has shed an impressive amount of light and wisdom on others who would seek to embark on the industry. In his book Born Standing Up: A Comic's Life, Martin wrote:
"I did stand-up comedy for 18 years. Ten of those years were spent learning, four years were spent refining, and four years were spent in wild success. I was seeking comic originality, and fame fell on me as a byproduct. The course was more plodding than heroic."
Only Murders in the Building recently returned, having released the first two episodes of season three. The same quinticental cast of ecclectic characters have returned. Audiences continue to delight in following Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez around the various hijinx of the Arconia. This time, the Arconia is also filled with a few more stars including the ever sensational Meryl Streep and the multi-talented Paul Rudd.
