'Dancing With The Stars' Taylor Swift Night: 7 Songs That Could Be Performed On The Dance Floor
Worlds are colliding for the fans of American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and American dance competition television series "Dancing With the Stars" this November.
On Monday, the BBC Studios-produced series announced via X, formerly Twitter, "A Celebration of Taylor Swift" on "Dancing with the Stars," which will be aired/streamed on ABC Network, Disney Plus and Hulu.
On Nov. 21, the remaining couples on the 32nd season of the show will dance to Swift's music. Here are seven dance-worthy Taylor Swift songs that could be performed by the dancers on stage:
1. "Shake It Off"
Aside from the song's upbeat and feel-good vibes, it's an uplifting song that reminds its listeners to let go of anything they're worried about and just live in the moment.
Because of its tempo, it can fit a jive dance performance — a lively and energetic routine often danced to swing or contemporary music, a Swiftie on X opined.
2. "Holy Ground"
Produced by Jeff Bhasker, "Holy Ground," initially released by Taylor Swift in 2012, is an upbeat song featuring country and heartland rock with insistent drum beats.
In a Taylor Swift community on Reddit, fans shared in a thread which of Swift's songs they couldn't help but dance to. Many of them commented, "Holy Ground." One even shared that whenever this song comes on, he starts to tap his foot to the bass drum.
3. "22"
From the album "Red," "22" features a combination of different music styles: dance-pop, bubblegum, disco and '90s rock. Starting with an acoustic guitar riff, it progresses into an upbeat track.
It's a great song for dancing when feeling like going out or having a grand time - whether you're 22 or not.
4. "Paper Rings"
In a Reddit thread about Taylor Swift songs, several voted for "Lover" as the song that could make them dance. The fan who started the thread replied to one of the comments voting for "Lover," saying, "Ooh, that's definitely another dance-worthy song!"
Co-written by Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff, "Lover" features a fun, retro, feel-good melody and beat throughout.
5. "Mirrorball"
Forbes expects at least one "Dancing With the Stars" pair to perform Taylor's "Mirrorball" in tribute to the Len Goodman mirrorball trophy - the championship trophy given to the winning couple at the end of each season.
One user on X tweeted, "#DWTS is having a Taylor Swift night! If no one dances to 'Mirrorball,' then WHAT WAS IT ALL FOR?"
6. "Style"
Currently taking the fifth spot on YouTube's Trending for Music, "Style" is a mix of pop, funk, disco and electronic music.
Its overall vibe and catchy lyrics make it a fun song to dance and sing along to, per Music Industry How To.
7. "Message In A Bottle"
In a Reddit thread about dancey Taylor Swift songs, some fans voted for "Message in a Bottle." One fan said, "I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me," while another shared that the song always got her dancing.
"Message in a Bottle" is a dance-pop, electropop track with 1980s-influenced production featuring synthesizers and pulsating bass.
