In 2016, a 20-year-old Chinese SM Entertainment trainee was in hot water after getting accused of allegedly sending explicit photos to fans.

At the time, someone uploaded screenshots of the alleged explicit messages and photos of the SM trainee on an online forum in South Korea.

In the post titled "SM trainee who sent body cam to fan + photo added," the trainee allegedly sent a lot of naked photos of himself to fans. The explicit content allegedly dates back to 2012 and 2013, when he was a participant in a Chinese survival show.

"Wow. This is ridiculous," commented one user at the time. Another said, "I think this is the worst trainee incident ever."

"Really, why does SM have kids with a past?" wrote another netizen, while a different user stated, "Wow, if it's real, you can't... You can't go in."

"Shouldn't a kid like this be kicked out?" asked one netizen. Another user commented, "Oh please, get out."

"This is not right."

After the backlash he received from fans, especially Chinese supporters, the trainee reportedly ended his journey of being an idol.

According to Koreaboo, the controversial trainee was supposed to join the Chinese sub-unit of the then-rookie male group NCT.

Now 26 years old, the ex-trainee of SM reportedly assumes the new name Yu Shi. While he didn't become an idol, he made a fresh start as an actor.

He starred in the Chinese Movies "Born to Fly" as Wang Yibo's comrade and "Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms" this year, per My Drama List.

As an actor, Yu Shi is currently gaining fans for his visuals and acting skills. In July, a Reddit user uploaded a behind-the-scenes video of him on the r/CDrama thread. "He's so handsome! He's a new Chinese actor named Yu Shi," the uploader wrote.

Others chimed in in the comments section, showing their interest. One recognized him as Wang Yibo's co-actor in the movie "Born to Fly," saying, "...He's a good actor. I also think he's incredibly handsome, and I appreciate his impressive physique as well."

"Please keep us updated on his future projects, for...ahem, research purposes," another quipped.
