Adriana Lima Is Unrecognizable: Maybe Still Swollen From Facelift At 'THG' Red Carpet, Fans Say
Adriana Lima's seemingly changing appearance has left fans confused, sparking rumors of possible cosmetic work.
On Tuesday, the former Victoria's Secret Angel graced the red carpet of the Los Angeles premiere of "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes."
While the 42-year-old supermodel dazzled in a black skater dress with red accents, fans couldn't help but notice apparent changes to her face, triggering a frenzy of speculation on social media.
"I would have had no idea that was the same person," one user commented on X, formerly Twitter, according to Page Six.
"OH NOOOOOO! What did she do to her face?! and WHY????? She was perfect before," another wrote, while someone else added, "That can't be her!!"
Some online users speculated that she might be "still swollen" from a possible "facelift," while others suggested that she may have gotten fillers, Botox treatments, or a nose job.
"Way too much Botox. When your eyebrows are pointing to the ceiling you need to put the Botox back in the fridge," one user claimed. Another suggested, "Clearly, she had the fox eyes procedure and major lip plumpers."
Others argued that Lima's transformation might just be the result of makeup, while a few wondered whether she might be expecting another child. Notably, the model gave birth to her third child, a son named Cyan, in August 2022.
"I could be naive, but to me, it's makeup," one person suggested. "Her eyebrows have been shaped differently."
Amid the online discussion, many fans came to Lima's defense, suggesting that the changes could be due to weight gain, aging, or even potentially an "underlying health condition."
"She gained weight that's it. Still 100 times hotter than any of us," one person wrote.
"She's human. She's a mother. We evolve, and so do our bodies," a second person commented.
"People age," another user pointed out, "even celebrities."
Lima later took to Instagram to address the plastic surgery rumors, sharing a makeup-free selfie and captioning it with a message about the realities of being a mom to four children and three dogs.
"This is the face of a tired mom of one teenage girl, two pre-teens, one active boy, a 1-year-old learning to walk, and three dogs... thanks for your concern," she wrote.
The supermodel has been vocal about body positivity and self-acceptance, emphasizing the importance of setting a positive example for her daughters.
"Becoming a mother changes everything. Beauty and self-care go out the window sometimes. But as my two daughters have gotten older, I've realized that they copy a lot of what I do and my habits, and it's important for me to make sure they're copying good ones," she said in a 2020 interview with Vogue India.
"I try to teach them to love the skin they're in and eat healthily for their bodies and to also practice positive mental wellness through meditation," she added.
