Diddy Rape Case: Aubrey O'Day, Azealia Banks Support Cassie's Lawsuit Against Rapper
Aubrey O'Day and Azealia Banks showed support for Cassie after she sued Sean "Diddy" Combs for alleged rape and abuse.
Cassie, 37, made headlines after suing the American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. Singers O'Day and Banks stood up for the "Long Way 2 Go" songstress.
"I'm in complete support of her," O'Day told Page Six.
The "Damaged" singer also reacted to the news on her Instagram Story. "Been tryna tell y'all for years. Prayers up for this queen @cassie," she wrote.
O'Day competed on Diddy's "Making the Band 3" and was chosen to join a girl group under his Bad Boy Records label. However, during the "Making the Band 4" finale in October 2008, many were surprised when Diddy announced she had been dropped.
Years later, O'Day appeared on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast in December 2022 and shared why she was kicked out of the program. According to her, she "wasn't willing to do what was expected of [her] - not talent-wise, but in other areas."
The "Show Stopper" singer acknowledged Diddy's contribution to her career, noting that she wouldn't have been as successful had she not been trained under his label. However, she alleged that there were "a lot of betrayal" and "lies," and she was "young and impressionable" at the time. It was also reportedly difficult to work with Diddy.
"He was the hardest person that you can work for, and it was torture. And not the work part of it, but the other stuff - mind games," she said.
Meanwhile, Banks also showed her public support for Cassie on social media. The "Luxury" rapper shared a snap of a headline about the news on her Instagram Story and added her reaction.
"THIS IS TRUE," Banks wrote.
"One time Diddy beat her up so bad he sent her on a 3-week 'vacation' to Hawaii just so no one would see or question how her face got like that. Another violent hiphop homosexual. THIS IS WHAT MENTAL ILLNESS LOOKS LIKE FOR ALL OF YOU ARMCHAIR PSYCOLOGISTS[sic]."
Diddy and Cassie had an on-again, off-again relationship for 11 years before they split for good in 2018. Cassie accused the "I'll Be Missing You" star of forcing her into sexual acts with male prostitutes while he filmed it. Diddy also allegedly "frequently" beat her and supplied her with drugs.
