Meghan Markle is skilled in saving face when she encounters embarrassing situations, according to an expert.

A video of Markle from Variety magazine's Power of Women gala in Los Angeles Thursday evening is making the rounds online. In the clip, she seemingly overstayed on the red carpet, and her assistant had to nudge her to move forward, but she stayed for more poses.

Body language expert Judi James weighed in on Markle's reaction when her assistant seemingly signaled her to end her time in front of the cameras with an outstretched arm.

"Meghan is getting pretty adept at doing what is known in body language terms as 'the Recovery': thinking on her feet at lightning speed to turn a public slip-up, miss-step or potential loss of dignity into a face-saving change of movement to rescue her image and brand," James told GB News.

The "Bodytalk: The Skills of Positive Image" author also mentioned the awkward incident involving the Duchess of Sussex at Kevin Costner's star-studded One805 Live! event at his $26 million polo field in September.

The host introduced Markle and Prince Harry, and the "Suits" star spotted the former walking on stage toward them, so she reached out for the microphone, assuming they were expecting her to say a few words. However, the host didn't hand her the mic, and after realizing she was mistaken, Markle swiftly moved toward the "Robin Hood" star, Daily Mail reported.

"There was the grab for the mic at the Kevin Costner party and the recent incident of seeming to expect to take the giant scissors or similar at the veteran's event," James continued. "Here though, the risk actually looks greater in terms of either diminishing her status as a duchess or allowing an expression of impatience or irritation to leak out."

James noted that during the "moment of potential conflict," when Markle's assistant made an ushering gesture, she performed a "recovery" action by holding out her assistant's outstretched hands as though she was approached by a lifelong friend or pal and even shook it, signaling affection before making poses for a few more shots.

James said Markle's stardom moment was "sullied" by her assistant's hand creeping into shots. However, Prince Harry's wife was able to maintain her composure even if the incident implied her low status of being ushered along.

"Her return in triumph looked compromised, but she managed to style it out without looking annoyed," James said of the duchess.

Markle attended the event sans her husband, Prince Harry. Richard Kay, Daily Mail's Editor-at-Large and royal commentator, previously claimed that the Invictus founder was "tainting her brand" and she was having a hard time launching her career due to his ongoing feud with his family, which the public allegedly wanted to focus on.
