Donald Trump Reveals Melania's Reaction To 'Golden Showers' With Hookers Claim: 'He's A Germophobe'
Former President Donald Trump says his wife, Melania, did not believe the claims that sex workers had urinated on him.
During a campaign event in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Saturday night, Trump reenacted informing the former first lady about the accusations, saying, "'He was with four hookers' -- you think that was good that night to go up and tell my wife? 'It's not true darling, I love you very much, it's not true.'"
Speaking about Melania's response, the current frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination revealed, "Actually, that one she didn't believe because she said, 'He's a germophobe, he's not into that, you know.' He's not into 'golden showers' as they say."
The claims originated from a disputed 2016 dossier by British ex-spy Christopher Steele that alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
The dossier, obtained by BuzzFeed in 2017, claimed that during a 2013 stay at the Ritz Carlton in Moscow, Trump hired sex workers for a "golden showers" show on a hotel bed because he had heard that Barack and Michelle Obama had stayed in the same bed.
Steele, the founder of Orbis Business Intelligence and former head of the Secret Intelligence Service's Russia desk, claimed that Russian authorities filmed the alleged incident, leading to potential leverage over Trump.
There is no evidence to suggest such an incident happened and was filmed by Russian authorities, but Steele has since doubled down on his claims, saying in a 2021 interview with ABC News that the tape "probably exists."
However, Trump has consistently rejected the dossier's contents, calling the allegations "phony" and "false."
Last month, the real estate mogul initiated legal action against Steele in the High Court in London, challenging the data protection aspects of the dossier, the Daily Mail reported.
In October, the High Court was informed that Trump is disputing two memos in the dossier, claiming they contain "numerous false, phony or made-up allegations." He specifically denied hiring prostitutes for "golden showers" and participating in "sex parties" in Russia.
Trump's germophobia has been a known trait, with previous reports indicating his aversion to handshakes and insistence on cleanliness.
Late-night hosts capitalized on the "golden shower" rumors when they first surfaced in 2017, with Stephen Colbert and James Corden incorporating a string of pee puns into their monologues.
At the time, Colbert joked that the story was just "an unfortunate leak" and the "worst kind of yellow journalism."
The "Late Show" host added, "I'm not going to make any jokes, not even a wee one."
Colbert also rented out the alleged "pee pee tape" hotel room -- the presidential suite of the Moscow Ritz Carlton -- during "Russia Week" on his show.
