Kate Middleton has been dubbed a "peacemaker," but she's not playing the role amid Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's conflict with the royal family, according to an expert.

Former BBC correspondent and royal commentator Jennie Bond weighed in on the ongoing falling-out between the royals and the Sussexes in her interview with Bella Magazine. According to her, the feud hurt the Princess of Wales, who is reportedly still not ready to forgive Prince Harry and Markle after what they said in their interviews and his memoir "Spare."

"I think Catherine has been badly hurt by Harry's brutal attacks on William, like his decision to reveal so much of what went on during their disagreements [in his memoir 'Spare']," Bond said, GB News reported.

Bond added that the future queen consort has been the family's "peacemaker." However, this time, she's taking a "step back."

"Things have gone too far, and she feels upset and, quite frankly, hurt and insulted," said the author of "Elizabeth: A Celebration in Photographs of the Queen's Life and Reign."

An unnamed source also told the publication the same sentiment -- that Middleton allegedly has "no desire to communicate with Harry nor Meghan" since "too much has happened, and she's not ready yet."

The Prince of Wales reportedly wants to improve his relationship with his younger brother. However, they are still not on speaking terms.

Body language expert Judi James previously spoke about Prince Harry and Markle's reunion when the foursome joined together for a walkabout in Windsor Castle following Queen Elizabeth's death. According to James in a previous interview, Middleton had already "done too many overkill rituals" for the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes, especially for the latter, like smiling on Christmas day and appearing like they were close pals at Wimbledon.

"I think now she's probably accepted that there won't be a hugely warm relationship there and is probably just being very professional," James said, per Daily Star.

James recounted how Middleton made a way for her husband and brother-in-law to talk following Prince Philip's funeral. According to James, the royal mother of three was "choreographing, nudging them, getting them in the same place, both men looked reluctant," but not during the walkabout.

"Here though, she kept very much out of the way. She came out of the car, she slammed the car door, she moved away quite quickly. It was William that actually extended his arm and invited Meghan to join in the conversation," James said.
