Meghan Markle Is Jealous Of 'Naturally Good-Looking' Kate Middleton: Royal Pundit
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's rivalry is seemingly heating up due to the upcoming book "Endgame," so royal pundit Lady Colin Campbell compared the two duchesses in a recent interview when asked about the two female royals.
Campbell joined English presenter and writer Mark Dolan for a discussion. The host asked the "Meghan and Harry: The Real Story" author if she believes an ongoing rivalry between the Princess of Wales and Duchess of Sussex exists.
Royal correspondent Omid Scobie made several scathing remarks against Middleton in his new book "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival." The two duchesses' rivalry was brought up because some accused Scobie of being Markle's mouthpiece.
"Oh, I think it's a rival. I think it's tremendous envy from Meghan's point of view," the royal pundit responded. "Meghan is jealous because she'd like to be number one, and she's never going to be. She doesn't have as good a figure as Catherine. She doesn't have as good-looking face as Catherine. She doesn't wear clothes as well as Catherine. She's not as popular as Catherine, and she wants to be number one, and she's never going to be number one."
She also doubts Middleton is jealous of her sister-in-law because there's no reason to feel that way, noting that Prince Harry's wife "is an insignificant creature" as far as the future queen consort is concerned.
In the same interview, Campbell pointed out how Prince William's wife has the "most fabulous figure and the most gorgeous legs" while Markle has "two chicken sticks on two chicken feet." Dolan interjected and argued, saying, "Meghan Markle, love her, or hate her, she's one of the most beautiful women in the world."
However, Campbell doubled down on her take against Markle's appearance. She even jokingly told Dolan he probably needed new glasses.
"She's not one of the most beautiful women in the world. She's very presentable after she's made up," Campbell said. "But she's not any great beauty. First of all, her nose has been collapsing for years and second, it's an artifice. The mouth is a barracuda mouth. I mean, Catherine is naturally good-looking. Meghan is an artificial construct not only in terms of her personality and her supposed ambitions but also in terms of her physiology."
Dolan told Campbell that while she's entitled to her opinions about Markle, he disagreed with her, stressing that he found the former "Suits" actress "very, very stunning."
Several netizens suspected that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were involved in Scobie's new book. However, the author of "Finding Freedom" shut down those speculations, especially about Markle's alleged involvement.
"No, and I'm not her friend. I didn't interview her for this book," he told The Sunday Times.
"Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival" hits shelves on Tuesday.
