Former WWE superstar Tammy Lynn Sytch - known by her ring name Sunny - has been sentenced to more than 17 years in prison after getting involved in a 2022 car crash that killed a 75-year-old man in Florida.

Following her prison sentence, Sytch will also serve eight years of probation for the fatal crash, where it was found out that she was driving drunk.

In a video shared by X user Molly Reed, Sytch was seen in court for her sentencing. Per the tweet, she reportedly pleaded no contest to the crash.

During her speech, the now-50-year-old former WWE superstar reportedly turned to the crash victim's family and said, "I know my words are not enough, but please know that I think about you every day."

The incident happened on March 5, 2022. Sytch's sedan crashed into Julian Lasseter's vehicle while he stopped at a red traffic light in Ormond Beach. The victim reportedly died from the injuries he sustained.

Less than an hour after the crash, Sytch's blood-alcohol content was allegedly between 0.32 and 0.36, which was reportedly four times the legal limit of 0.08. Her blood allegedly manifested signs of the use of marijuana, too.

Sytch was arrested in May 2022, just four months after being released from an eight-month prison time for a previous driving under the influence (DUI charge).

At first, Sytch reportedly pleaded not guilty to all of her charges. But in August, she changed her pleas days before her case's trial.

She reportedly pleaded no contest to DUI manslaughter, one felony charge of driving with license suspended causing death, four misdemeanor counts of DUI with damage to a person and two misdemeanor charges of DUI with property damage.

Per reports, the fatal crash was not the first time Sytch got accused of drunk driving. In 2019, she was charged with her sixth DUI for allegedly driving the wrong way on a one-way street with a suspended license. This charge gave her eight months of prison time.
