Prince Harry, Prince William's Possible Reunion Is Only At Family Funeral: Royal Editor
Prince Harry and Prince William are not on speaking terms and may only reunite at a family funeral, according to a royal expert.
Sarah Hewson, a royal editor at TalkTV, weighed in on the relationship between King Charles III's sons. According to her, the Prince of Wales has "no plans" to see his younger sibling, and they are likely to come face to face only at the next family funeral.
"We have only seen Harry return for big family occasions -- he came with Meghan for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, he came back for Prince Phillip's funeral, then for his grandmother's funeral and then of course for his father's coronation, which albeit was a very fleeting visit," Hewson told The Sun's Fabulous.
"But we don't have any of those big family or state occasions on the horizon. I can't think of any upcoming royal marriages, christenings, in the diary, which would bring Harry back."
She also mentioned that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not joining the royal family at Sandringham for Christmas, noting that if they would, it would be "awkward." Henson said it was difficult to think of an occasion where the royal siblings would be together other than a family funeral.
Prince Harry and Markle would love to spend the holidays with the royals in the United Kingdom. However, they haven't received an invite yet, The Times reported.
Charlotte Griffith, editor-at-large at The Mail on Sunday, was asked about the Sussexes' reaction and if their interest in being reunited with the members of the firm was a sign that the rift was thawing.
"I get the impression they must need more material for their next documentary," Griffith said via GB News. "But, you know, I suppose they are saying the rift is slowly healing. We would show up."
Prince Harry's biographer, Angela Levin, shared the same opinion. According to her, Prince Harry and Markle were probably after some information they could sell.
"And I feel rather cynically that they want to go and see the royal family to actually get information that they can sell on," she said of the news that the Sussexes were interested in spending Christmas at the Sandringham.
