White House Christmas Decorations 2023 Photos: Jill Biden Reveals Holiday Ornaments
First Lady Jill Biden has unveiled the White House's enchanting holiday and seasonal decorations for 2023.
The White House holiday décor was revealed to the public Monday, with the first lady inviting National Guard families to be the first to experience the magical atmosphere, according to a White House release.
The decorations revolve around the theme of "Magic, Wonder, and Joy," with each room and design element at the White House, which is anticipating around 100,000 visitors during the holiday season, encouraging people to embrace their inner child.
The decor boasts impressive statistics, including 14,975 feet of ribbon, over 350 candles, 33,892 ornaments and 22,100 bells. A total of 98 Christmas trees are scattered throughout the White House complex.
One notable change in this year's decorations is the absence of stockings.
The New York Post reported that Biden opted not to hang stockings for her grandchildren and pets over the mantle in the State Dining Room, a departure from the tradition of the past two years.
This came months after President Joe Biden and his wife publicly acknowledged first son Hunter Biden's out-of-wedlock daughter, Navy Joan Roberts, as their seventh grandchild.
A White House spokesperson explained that the Bidens plan to spend the holidays at Camp David and will hang the stockings there.
