Piers Morgan Says King Charles, Kate Middleton Made The Racist Remarks About Archie, According To 'Endgame'
Piers Morgan has revealed the two alleged "racist" royals named in Dutch copies of royal correspondent and author Omid Scobie's new biography, "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival."
On Wednesday's episode of "Piers Morgan Uncensored," the British broadcaster claimed that the Dutch-language version of Scobie's book named King Charles III and Princess Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, as the royals who allegedly expressed "concerns" about the skin color of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son, Archie.
Enstarz could not independently verify the names that were accidentally revealed in the Dutch copies, which have since been pulled from shelves in the Netherlands.
Morgan emphasized that he did not believe any racist comments were made by the royal family but felt the British public, who funds the royal family, has the right to know.
"Frankly, if Dutch people wandering into a bookshop can pick it up and see these names, then you -- the British people here, who actually pay for the British royal family -- you're entitled to know, too," Morgan asserted.
Scobie's book claimed that Markle named the two royals involved in alleged "troubling" conversations about her and Harry's then-unborn child's complexion in private letters she wrote to her father-in-law Charles.
The final edition of "Endgame" does not name the family members due to libel laws, although the author claimed that the remarks were echoed by an unnamed member of the royal household.
However, Dutch translations of the book reportedly included names.
During an appearance on the Dutch talk show "RTL Boulevard" this week, Scobie denied naming the royals who made the alleged remarks in any version of his book that he produced, citing a "translation error" as the cause of a name being included in copies released in Holland.
Morgan challenged this explanation on his show, stating, "It doesn't make sense, how do you mistranslate names? They're either there or they're not. How is there an entirely different version appearing in a Dutch edition of this book?"
On Tuesday, Xander Publishers, the publishing house for Scobie's book, confirmed receiving a request from the United States to halt sales in Holland. Details surrounding the request remain undisclosed.
Markle first revealed that there were alleged conversations within the royal family about the potential color of Archie's skin during her interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
Both the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry refused to name the individuals involved, but he later clarified that it was not his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, or grandfather, Prince Philip.
King Charles, Middleton and the Sussexes have not publicly addressed the revelations in Scobie's book and Morgan's comments as of late.
