Billie Eilish has clarified her recent comments about her attraction to women.

Speaking at Variety's Hitmakers Brunch event, the 21-year-old pop sensation told the magazine that she had not intended to come out in her interview published in the magazine's Power of Women issue last month.

But Eilish said that she thought it was "obvious," adding, "I didn't realize people didn't know."

"I just don't really believe in [coming out]," she explained. "I'm just like, 'Why can't we just exist?' I've been doing this for a long time, and I just didn't talk about it. Whoops."

As for her reaction to the article, the Grammy winner recalled, "I was like, 'Oh, I guess I came out today!"

"It's exciting to me because I guess people didn't know, so it's cool that they know," she added.

Eilish admitted she was "nervous" talking about the subject before confirming, "I am for the girls."

In her November Variety profile, Eilish revealed that she is "physically attracted" to women but also "intimidated" by them.

"I love [women] so much. I love them as people. I'm attracted to them as people. I'm attracted to them for real," she shared.

"I have deep connections with women in my life, the friends in my life, the family in my life. I'm physically attracted to them. But I'm also so intimidated by them and their beauty and their presence," she continued.

The singer-songwriter proudly embraced her womanhood during a speech at Variety's Power of Women event last month, recognizing her past struggles with insecurity and internalized misogyny.

Despite her candid admission, Eilish expressed gratitude for being a woman and pride in her identity.

Eilish's romantic history includes relationships with rapper Brandon Adams, also known as 7:AMP, and Jesse Rutherford of The Neighbourhood.

Following her split with Rutherford in May, Page Six reported that Eilish was spotted with actress Ava Capri, who is queer.

Amid personal revelations, Eilish's professional achievements continue to soar.

Despite not releasing a studio album this year, Eilish earned six nods for the 2024 Grammys, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for the "Barbie" track, "What Was I Made For?"

Additionally, her collaboration with Labrinth, "Never Felt So Alone," earned her a nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

The Grammy Awards will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 4.
