Jinger Duggar Breaks Dad Jim Bob's Dress Code Again While Reminiscing Favorite Christmas Memory
Jinger Duggar has broken her dad Jim Bob Duggar's traditional dress code in a photo with her rarely-seen daughters.
The "19 Kids and Counting" alum recently had a Q&A session with her fans via Instagram Stories. One asked about her "favorite Christmas memory," and she responded by sharing a rare snap of her with her two daughters, Felicity, 4, and Evangeline, 2, The Sun reported.
In the snap, the trio stood with their backs to the camera while they stared at a life-sized Gingerbread House. Jinger wore a fitted tank top, tight denim jeans and a red cap while her kids rocked matching black and white checkered dresses.
"One Christmas, my parents gave each of us a decent-sized plastic container full of candy...and topped it with a new toothbrush and toothpaste," Jinger shared while reminiscing her favorite Christmas memory. "I loved the container until it broke last year...it was memorable."
Last week, Jinger shared photos of her wearing the same outfit. In the photo, she carried Evangeline in her arms, who was celebrating her birthday at the time.
"[C]elebrating our sweet little 3 yr old, Evangeline Jo so thankful for God giving us this little angel to raise! We love you, jojo," Jinger wrote in the caption.
She also shared a video of her walking hand in hand with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, on the shore, wearing the same tank top and jeans. The clip also featured the couple sharing a kiss and Vuolo running after one of their daughters while the family was still on the beach.
"Grateful," Jinger captioned the post with a yellow heart emoji.
Jinger and her sisters were raised under a strict dress code. They were told to dress modestly and not wear outfits for boys like pants. However, when the girls got married and started their own family, their wardrobe changed.
"I wanted to follow what the Bible said, and as I searched the Scriptures for answers, I never found a passage specifically forbidding women from wearing pants," Jinger wrote in her book, "The Hope We Hold: Finding Peace in the Promises of God," released earlier this year, which she wrote with her husband.
"Modesty isn't about what you wear. It's about the position of your heart," she added.
Jinger's married sister, Joy-Anna Duggar, also shared the same sentiment. In November, Joy-Anna shared a snap of her wearing a low-cut white V-neck shirt with a green blazer and pairing it with light-colored denim jeans.
"I'd always worn skirts my whole life, and so for me, I wasn't in a rush," Joy-Anna said about how she dressed. "So really, the last year we really prayed about it and felt like there wasn't anything in scripture -- there isn't anything in scripture that's black and white on dress. It talks a lot about modesty, but I feel like you can be modest and wear pants, and so that's kind of where we came to."
