Prince Harry, Meghan Markle's Royal Titles At Risk After 'Endgame' Brought Back Racism Scandal
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could lose their royal titles since a member of parliament is working on passing a new bill regarding it.
Conservative MP Bob Seely is working on a new bill that could deny the royal couple the Duke and Duchess of Sussex royal titles following the release of Omid Scobie's controversial book, "Endgame." The royal family has been accused of being racist again after the Sussexes' alleged "mouthpiece" brought back the racism allegations in his new book.
Seely's bill wants to adapt the laws passed in the First World War to deny enemy German nobles their British titles. The Isle of Wight MP's Bill would force the Commons to consider the removal of the Sussexes' royal title while there's mounting pressure for them to break their silence about the claims made by Scobie in his book, Daily Mail reported.
The Dutch version of Scobie's "Endgame" included the two royals who allegedly raised concerns about Archie's skin color. Piers Morgan revealed on his program "Uncensored" that they were King Charles and Kate Middleton.
Seely said he needed to act due to the attempt to use race to smear the monarchy, which he considers a "poisonously insidious" move. In his letter to Mail on Sunday, Seely said that while sources close to Prince Harry and Markle denied their involvement in Scobie's book, "I suspect that few people believe in such denials."
"Of all the damaging insults to throw, 'racism' is the most poisonously insidious, guaranteed to leave a whiff of stigma and impossible to prove when false. It is the catch-all slur of the modern era," the MP added.
The politician is reportedly applying his Titles Deprivation 1917 Amendment Bill for next week's Commons' Order Paper. He reportedly has cleared the wording with Parliament's Table Office, which oversees draft legislation.
The monarch and Princess of Wales were business as usual despite being accused of being the racist royals. King Charles continued his visit to the United Arab Emirates for the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) last week, and he brushed off the royal race row by telling reporters who asked him how he was doing, "I'm all right very much."
Middleton and Prince William also graced the red carpet for the annual Royal Variety Performance in London on Nov. 30. When asked about their reaction to Scobie's book, the royal couple ignored the question and continued walking.
