Kim Kardashian To Star In New Hulu Legal Drama As LA's Most Successful Divorce Lawyer
Kim Kardashian is set to headline a new legal drama on Hulu, marking her second collaboration with creator Ryan Murphy.
The reality TV star and business mogul will not only star in but also executive produce the adult procedural, described as "high-end, glossy and sexy," Deadline reported.
Kardashian, 43, will portray Los Angeles' most successful divorce lawyer and the owner of an all-female law firm, according to the outlet.
The show, backed by Murphy and Kardashian's momager Kris Jenner, has already begun preliminary casting for Kardashian's on-screen law partners and her love interest, with plans to begin production in late 2024 and premiere in early 2025.
This project follows Kardashian's current role in Murphy's "American Horror Story: Delicate," where she plays the best friend and publicist of Emma Roberts' character.
The new Hulu series is reportedly part of Murphy's return to Disney, following his exit from Netflix, and underscores Hulu's commitment to retaining Kardashian and Jenner following the success of the reality series "The Kardashians" and "AHS: Delicate."
This legal drama, with its on-screen depiction of a successful lawyer, mirrors her real-life commitment to legal studies.
Apart from her burgeoning acting career, Kardashian has been working toward becoming a lawyer, a journey she openly shared with her followers.
Having passed California's baby bar exam in 2021, she aims to take the full bar exam in two years.
During the 2023 Time100 Summit in April, she said, "I'm probably going to take the bar in February 2025. I think it's, like, a 36% pass rate."
The Skims founder hopes to follow in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian, the lawyer who represented O.J. Simpson during the former athlete's 1995 murder trial.
The series adds to Kardashian's busy schedule, as she is also involved in a comedy film titled "The Fifth Wheel," in which she will play the titular character in a group of female friends.
The movie landed on Netflix last month following a competitive bidding war, Deadline reported.
Details about the film are scarce, but according to the outlet, Kardashian is working with co-writers Paula Pell and Janine Brito for the project.
With a plethora of projects in the pipeline, Kardashian continues to diversify her career beyond reality TV and into the realms of film and drama series.
