Denny Laine, renowned as Paul McCartney's former Wings bandmate, breathed his last Tuesday after a prolonged battle with lung disease. He was 79.

The news was confirmed by his wife, Elizabeth Hines, on Facebook.

McCartney, expressing his grief on social media, remembered Laine as an outstanding vocalist and guitar player.

"Denny was a great talent with a fine sense of humor and was always ready to help other people. He will be missed by all his fans and remembered with great fondness by his friends," he wrote alongside a photo of them playing together in Wings.

"I send my condolences and best wishes to his wife, Elizabeth and family. Peace and love Denny. It was a pleasure to know you. We are all going to miss you. Love, Paul," he added.

Laine's contributions to music include the iconic performance of "Go Now" with The Moody Blues and co-writing the Wings hit "Mull of Kintyre."

In 1971, he teamed up with the former Beatle and his wife Linda to form Wings. They parted ways in 1981.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018 as a Moody Blues member, Laine's musical journey spanned decades, leaving an indelible mark.

Other musicians and fans also paid tribute to Laine on social media.

"RIP Denny Laine. Fantastic first and best lead singer of the Moody Blues. Their very rootsy R&B based classic first album remains their best thanks to Denny. Go Now forever one of the great vocals of all time," Stevie Van Zandt wrote on Facebook.

Another tribute said, "RIP Denny Laine. You played on so many great songs."

Musician Monroe Quinn wrote, "RIP Denny Laine. I am grateful for and humbled by the times I got to play with him."

3. Lionel Dahmer

Lionel Dahmer, father of notorious serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, passed away Tuesday while in hospice care in Ohio, The Sun reported. He was 87.

"Rest in peace, Lionel Dahmer," one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Lionel, known for defending his son in the wake of Jeffrey's heinous crimes, attributed the murders to Jeffrey's troubled upbringing and mental illness.

Despite the shocking nature of Jeffrey's acts, Lionel stood by him, appearing alongside him in interviews.

Jeffrey was convicted of murdering, dismembering, and cannibalizing at least 17 men between 1978 and 1991.

Lionel's complex relationship with his son was depicted in the Netflix series "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," with Evan Peters portraying Jeffrey and Richard Jenkins playing Lionel.

4. Sophie Anderson

Anderson's former adult film partner, Rebecca More, announced the news on Instagram, expressing devastation at the loss.

"We shared some amazing times together and that's how I'm going to remember her. The bubbly, funny, kind hearted soul who was outrageous on the outside but also so gentle behind closed doors," More wrote.

She continued, "We were very close, and we shared a crazy time together that was totally unique to us. That's how I will remember her. This is so tragic but I know you are now at peace. I will always always love you and hold a special place in my heart."

Fans also paid tribute to Anderson on social media, with one person writing: "Watching some of her old videos and it breaks my heart. She was so uplifting and helped us to be accepting of who we are and to be proud of it. [I] will be forever thankful for the confidence that her presence gave me. Rest in peace Sophie Anderson."
