A persistent and sensational conspiracy theory suggesting that Justin Bieber is the father of Kourtney Kardashian's third child, Reign, continues to captivate online discussions.
Kardashian shares Reign, 8, Mason, 13, and Penelope, 11, with ex Scott Disick, but rumors alleged that Bieber may have fathered her youngest son, who was born in December 2014.
According to an analysis by Instagram user Patty Eminger, who runs a pop culture account, the theory stemmed from a speculated fling during a tumultuous period in Kardashian's relationship with Disick.
The rumors suggested that Kardashian and Disick broke up in March 2014 and that she proceeded to have a "rendezvous" with Bieber "right around the time Reign would have been conceived."
The fan theory pointed to an Instagram photo posted by Bieber during this time, where he was seen with an unidentified woman.
The caption, "Lord knows," was highlighted as a possible reference to Disick, who famously refers to himself as "the Lord."
Eminger argued that Kardashian and Disick's known tendency to "seek revenge on each other" contributed to the conspiracy.
Additionally, he pointed to a 2017 Mirror report that claimed Disick was allegedly concerned about Reign's paternity and the fact that the former couple broke up just six months after their youngest child's birth.
An Ellen DeGeneres interview in 2016, where the host asked Kardashian if Bieber helped take care of her kids, is also cited as a potential hint.
But Eminger claimed that "the strongest piece of evidence is how shocking similar Reign and Justin look," sharing photos of Reign and a young Justin.
The rumor persists to this day, with comments about Reign's likeness to Bieber appearing underneath videos featuring the child.
However, this remains purely a conspiracy theory.
While Disick did enter a rehab facility in June 2014, it is unclear if he and Kardashian broke up or if she hooked up with Bieber in March of that year.
The family announced Kardashian's pregnancy three months later, with Us Weekly reporting that it was "planned."
Kardashian and Disick officially parted ways in July 2015 after images surfaced of him with his ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli in Monte Carlo.
Romance rumors between Kardashian and Bieber first surfaced in December 2015 after the pair were seen hanging out together at various clubs.
A month later, Kourtney appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," where the host asked about her rumored romance with the pop star.
"Does Justin Bieber help with the kids at all?" DeGeneres asked.
"Um, no," Kardashian replied before insisting that she and Bieber were "friends."
Kardashian is now happily married to Travis Barker, and they recently welcomed a baby boy.
Bieber, for his part, tied the knot with his wife Hailey in 2018.
