A YouTube star has shared a harrowing video of him and his girlfriend hiding from her ex-beau after he allegedly shot her in the leg -- before turning the gun on himself.

Hunter Avallone was at his Martinsburg, West Virginia, apartment Friday with Twitch streamer Holle Peno when the tragedy unfolded, the YouTuber wrote on Instagram and X, formerly Twitter.

According to Avallone's post, Peno's ex-boyfriend, identified as Conrad, showed up at the apartment and allegedly fired shots through the door, hitting her in the leg.

The assailant, who reportedly had been separated from Peno for several weeks, ultimately took his own life in a police standoff, Avallone wrote.

Avallone began recording moments after his girlfriend was struck with a bullet, revealing in the footage that his landlord had previously warned him about a suspicious individual on the property with a concealed weapon.

"I recorded the final moments in which we're hiding on the back porch," Avallone wrote alongside footage showing Peno visibly distraught and bleeding.

"You can hear him shoot at police before ultimately taking his own life ... in my own f---ing apartment hallway," the YouTube star alleged.

Avallone, seemingly on the phone with police in the video, described the suspect's actions and the imminent danger they faced.

The video captured the tense moments, including voices screaming, "Show me your hands!" and gunshots, before abruptly concluding.

"Still trying to process this. Holle and I are physically ok, but mentally, this is gonna do some serious damage," Avallone wrote before emphasizing Peno's bravery during the traumatic ordeal.

Following the incident, Avallone shared via X what he claimed to be Conrad's final text message with Peno shortly before his death.

"This was Conrad's final text message with Holle after she'd been injured. He shot himself shortly after. This is an ongoing investigation, and I am not able to say a whole lot yet. But goddamn this was terrifying," the YouTuber wrote.

On Friday, Peno posted a photo of her leg covered in blood following the shooting and shared that she had been taken to a hospital.

Two days later, she shared an emotional video on X about the incident, saying, "It feels like my soul was ripped in half."

In an Instagram post, the Twitch personality opened up about the complexity of her emotions, stating, "I loved him for 11 years despite the abuse, and he couldn't love me enough to let me leave."

Peno alleged last week that Conrad put Airtags on her stuff to "track my location."

A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated by a fellow Twitch streamer to help Peno with her hospital bills and personal expenses during her recovery.

The fund had raised over $4,000 by Sunday afternoon.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, the Martinsburg Police Department confirmed the incident, saying that an armed man arrived at the location and discharged a firearm, injuring a female victim.

Officers engaged with the armed suspect, leading to a brief exchange of gunfire and the suspect taking his own life, according to police.
