Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Dubbed 'Least Private Privacy Advocates'; Netizens React
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got another title from one news outlet in the U.S.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made it into The Hollywood Reporter's 2023 Hollywood Yearbook, featuring the most popular, class clown and biggest mean girl. The magazine dubbed them the "Least Private Privacy Advocates."
"After the Oprah Winfrey interview, the best-selling memoir, the Netflix series, and the (canceled) Spotify podcast, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could try looking under rocks to reach the few people who haven't yet heard their appeals to be left alone," the description read.
THR shared the Sussexes' entry on X, formerly Twitter, and it received mixed responses from the netizens. Many agreed with it and mocked Prince Harry and Markle for allegedly doing the opposite of what they asked for.
"It seems everyone's starting to get the memo. And before you waste your time defending the toxic duo, they've been begging for this for a long time. #MeghanMarkleIsAJoke," one commented. Another jokingly added, "Respect their privacy!" with a laughing emoji.
"When one monetizes the Invictus Games, it becomes BEYOND tacky. Merching & Whining. Two of the most privileged, entitled humans on the planet, btw," a third person stated.
"So funny. @RNN_RoyalNews, they keep making [it to 'lists'] but getting all the worst titles. Which is funny for people so obsessed with having titles," a fourth person opined.
On the other, many also defended the Sussexes and attacked THR. They accused the outlet of allegedly bullying Prince Harry and Markle.
"I've reported this shameful bullying and lying. Keep your nose [off] Harry and Meghan," a Sussex supporter commented. Another wrote, "This is gross and shameful of the Hollywood reporter."
"They...uhh...never asked to be left alone. I see someone hasn't done their homework in researching for this article.... that's it get the pink slips ready!!
Seriously though, 'Hollywood Reporter' get your act together, stop riding on H&M coattails for clout," a third person added.
"'[M]ost widely trusted resource' and [you're] spewing nothing but lies," another Sussex supporter wrote.
The Hollywood Reporter has also branded the Sussexes among the biggest losers in Hollywood this year. Both have also appeared on Ranker poll's Most Disliked Celebrities in 2023, with Markle claiming the top spot, dethroning Amber Heard, who used to hold the No. 1 position.
