Inside Kate Middleton, Prince Harry's Relationship Before Meghan Markle
Kate Middleton and Prince Harry used to be close, but the former reportedly no longer wants to talk to the latter amid their ongoing beef.
Prince William dated Middleton for nearly 10 years before they got engaged and married. Due to the timeline of their relationship, the Princess of Wales had the time to get to know his family, especially his brother, Prince Harry.
In his book "Spare," Prince Harry described Middleton as "carefree, sweet, kind." He also admitted that he liked seeing her laugh and "better yet, I liked making her laugh," and he was reportedly "quite good at it." Prince Harry also considered Middleton "more sister than in-law."
"The sister I'd never had and always wanted, and I was pleased that she'd be standing by Willy's side forever," he wrote, per Insider. "She was a good match for my older brother. They made each other visibly happy, and therefore I was happy too."
After Middleton officially joined the royal family following her marriage to Prince William, Prince Harry became their wingman. The Duke of Sussex was even dubbed the third wheel. Prince William, Middleton and Prince Harry were collectively known as the royal trio.

Prince William's wife and brother have maintained their close bond years after she married the heir to the throne. They attended several royal events as the royal trio.
However, things changed when Meghan Markle joined the picture. Initially, fans thought the royal trio would become the fab four with the addition of the "Suits" actress. However, it never happened. Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their royal duties and moved to California in 2020.
Kate Middleton and Prince Harry After He Married Meghan Markle (2018 - 2021)
Middleton and Prince Harry still made a few appearances together after he married Markle. However, there were claims that there was already tension building up between the Sussexes and Cambridges at the time, though it wasn't noticeable when they both attended the Anzac Day in Westminster Abbey in 2019 sans Markle and Prince William. They also reunted in 2021 for a joint walkabout in Windsor after Queen Elizabeth's passing.
The Sussexes did an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, dropped a docuseries with Netflix in 2022 and Prince Harry released his memoir, "Spare," earlier this year. Many felt that such moves were attacks against the royal family, and Middleton wasn't spared.
Prince Harry shared alleged incriminating details about his sister-in-law in his book. He claimed that Middleton grimaced when his wife borrowed her lip gloss and had issues with Markle's plan for their 2018 royal wedding.
Prince Harry and Markle were also accused of being involved in Omid Scobie's controversial book, "Endgame," as the Dutch version named the alleged two racist royals -- King Charles and Middleton.
Award-winning journalist Duncan Larcombe, former royal editor for The Sun, reflected on the Duchess of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex's relationship amid the Sussexes and the royals' conflict. He doubted that things were still the same between Prince Harry and Middleton.
"Kate was, as Harry said, the sister he never had, and clearly that is not the case any more," the royal expert told OK! Magazine earlier this year. "There was a time when Harry would have been instrumental in any celebrations or any fun that the couple were having, but those days are long in the past."
An unnamed source told Us Weekly that Middleton was allegedly done with her in-laws from Montecito and no longer plans to speak with them.
"Kate has no desire to communicate with Harry nor Meghan," the source explained. "There has been too much that has happened, and she's not ready yet."
There were claims that the Sussexes wanted to spend Christmas in the United Kingdom. However, they have not received an invite yet.
An insider claimed to Vanity Fair that there was still so much "hostility" toward them, and while King Charles "would" love to have them, the Prince and Princess of Wales would not want to be in the same room with them, "let alone spend Christmas with them."
