"Apartment 404," a real-life mystery drama inspired by actual events, will travel across years and time with each episode. On this show, the six personalities will trace the truth behind the unusual events set in an apartment.
The new series is scheduled for broadcast in the first half of 2024.
With the release of the upcoming variety show's special trailer, Jennie's expression in the video became a hot topic in an online community in South Korea.
"She has big cat eyes," commented one user; another wrote, "She shouts 'I'm an idol' even in the teaser poster. [Laughing out loud]. I'm so excited."
"Look at her face, she's so lovable," wrote someone else, while a fourth user said, "Jennie really has a variety of facial expressions. Haha. It's a different charm from her pictorials."
Several netizens also expressed excitement about the BLACKPINK member joining the variety show as a fixed member.
"I love the member combination. There are so many funny people, and I love that Jennie and Lee Jung-ha are part of the cast, too," commented one user.
Another netizen wrote, "Jennie is good at variety shows so everything she's done so far has been a hit and cute. I'm looking forward to this one, too."
"I believe in Jennie, who has good material and has never failed when appearing on variety shows," stated a different netizen.
"I am looking forward to seeing Jennie because she has a good sense of entertainment and a quick sense of humor. She is good at throwing comments with appropriate timing. Plus, she's cute," said another.
"Apartment 404's" producer-director (PD) is Jung Chul-min, the PD of the hit programs "Running Man," "Village Survival, The Eight" and "Sixth Sense." He has previously worked with Jennie on the variety show "Village Survival, The Eight" -- also known as "Michuri 8-1000."
In the 2018 variety series, eight people were given clues and 24 hours to solve a mystery in the fictional village of Michuri, where Yoo Jae-suk was the village head.
