Vin Diesel Accused Of Sexual Assault By Ex-Assistant: He 'Molested Her Body'
"Fast & Furious" star Vin Diesel is being sued by a former assistant for allegedly sexually assaulting her and creating a hostile work environment.
The lawsuit filed Thursday centered around an alleged incident in 2010 at a hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, where "Fast Five" was being filmed at the time.
According to the lawsuit obtained by Vanity Fair, Asta Jonasson, who was hired by Diesel's company, One Race Productions, to work on location in Atlanta, alleged that the actor forced himself on her and masturbated in front of her despite her "clear statements of non-consent."
Diesel and One Race have not publicly addressed the allegations as of this writing.
The lawsuit claimed that Jonasson, who had just graduated from film school and had been working for One Race for less than two weeks at the time, was asked to wait in Diesel's hotel suite one night in September 2010.
After the hostesses Diesel entertained that night left the suite, the actor allegedly "grabbed Ms. Jonasson's wrists, one with each of his hands, and pulled her onto the bed."
Despite her pleas to stop and attempts to escape, Diesel, born Mark Sinclair, allegedly continued to grope and kiss her.
Diesel then "pushed Ms. Jonasson's dress up toward her waist, and molested her body, running his hands over Ms. Jonasson's upper legs, including her inner thighs," the lawsuit stated.
Jonasson screamed and ran toward the bathroom, where Diesel allegedly pinned her to the wall and began masturbating.
Shortly after, Jonasson claims she was fired by Diesel's sister, One Race president Samantha Vincent.
Jonasson is suing Diesel, his sister, and One Race for the alleged sexual battery, creating a hostile work environment, negligent supervision, wrongful termination, and other claims. The lawsuit also accused Diesel and his production company of an attempted cover-up.
It seeks a civil penalty of $10,000 for each violation, along with unspecified punitive damages.
Jonasson also claimed she did not come forward with the allegations sooner due to the nondisclosure agreement she signed when she worked for One Race.
In a statement to CNN, a lawyer for Jonasson said, "No one is too famous or powerful to evade justice. We hope her courageous decision to come forward helps create lasting change and empowers other survivors."
Diesel has appeared in over 60 TV and films, and he and his sister serve as producers on several "Fast & Furious" films.
In June, Diesel announced that the next installment in the franchise, "Fast X: Part 2," will be released on April 4, 2025.
Alongside a set photo with co-star Jason Momoa, Diesel wrote in an Instagram post at the time, "For those who didn't know, the 'Fast X' was just part one. Know that part two is going to be an effort from our fast family and studio like you have never seen."
