Prince Harry and Meghan Markle received a backlash from one royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the United Kingdom and moved to California in 2020. Since then, they made several public attacks against the royal family by sharing intimate details, including their falling out, in their interviews, Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan" and Prince Harry's memoir, "Spare."

However, three years after the move, the royal prince reportedly started missing his life in his home country, which didn't sit well with Michael Cole, an award-winning former BBC TV journalist and royal correspondent.

"They are spoilt, they have an agenda," Cole said, GB News reported. "That agenda is very unhelpful and hurtful to his family. He said he misses Britain and misses the British way of life, well it is a strange way of showing it."

Prince William's brother spoke about the things he missed in the U.K. in "Harry & Meghan."

"I miss the weird family gatherings when we are all sort of brought together under one roof for certain times of the year," he said. "So I miss the U.K., I miss my friends."

Previous reports claimed that the Sussexes wanted to spend Christmas in Sandringham with the royal family. However, they reportedly did not receive an invite from King Charles. Several royal commentators believed they had motives for the reunion they hoped for.

Charlotte Griffiths, editor-at-large at The Mail on Sunday, claimed the royal couple wanted to do it for "materials." Prince Harry's biographer Angela Levin shared the same sentiment, alleging that they want to "get information that they can sell on."

Prince Harry is in the midst of his security battle in the U.K. He alleged that he was unfairly stripped of his publicly funded security after giving up his status as a working royal.

Rafe Heydel-Mankoo, historian and broadcaster, commented on Prince Harry's security battle. For him, the lawsuit was "nonsense" because the Home Office would still provide him protection only on a "case by case" basis depending on its assessment of the threat level.

There were also rumors that Prince Harry wanted to return to Britain with his family, unlike his wife. Levin, author of "Harry: A Biography of a Prince," weighed in on the matter, and for her, he wanted to return home because "everything else he's done has failed."

"He wants to come back. He wants to be a member of the Royal Family again, but my goodness, he is a very changed Harry, and he's going to do what he wants," Levin claimed. "The fact that he has no respect for his father, no respect for his birth, I think he is going to be a big danger because he will go into competition with the Royal Family themselves."

Prince Harry made several trips to the U.K. in 2023 for his legal battles. Meanwhile, Markle didn't visit the U.K. and skipped King Charles' coronation.
