Kim Kardashian reportedly made tens of millions of dollars from her mobile game, "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood," before deciding to shut it down.

The reality star and shapewear mogul announced Wednesday that she is bidding farewell to her app after a successful 10-year run that allowed fans to embark on a virtual journey to A-list stardom, People reported.

The game has now been removed from both Apple and Android app stores, with users who still have the app downloaded receiving a notice that they can continue using the game's features until April 8.

Kardashian expressed gratitude to mobile gaming developer Glu and the dedicated players who contributed to the game's success over the past decade.

"This journey has meant so much to me, but I've realized that it's time to focus that energy into other passions," Kardashian said in a statement obtained by the outlet. "I want to thank the Glu team and the many people behind the scenes who have worked diligently on making it a success."

Launched in June 2014 in collaboration with Glu, "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood" quickly became a sensation, offering users the chance to navigate the world of fame, events, acting, modeling, club appearances, and dating.

While the game was free to download, users could enhance their experience by purchasing "K stars" to get cosmetic add-ons and expedite their ascent in the virtual social hierarchy.

Kardashian's mobile game proved immensely successful, with reports suggesting it was on track to achieve $200 million in annual revenue just a month after its 2014 launch.

Kardashian, who once claimed she cashed an $80 million "video game check" in 2016, reportedly earned a substantial portion of the game's profits.

While Glu has not revealed how much it paid the reality star, Forbes cited unnamed insiders as saying that Kardashian likely pocketed around 45% of the profits. According to the magazine, some analysts suggested she may have received around 30% of revenues.

Forbes estimated that "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood" generated at least $146 million in revenue from 2014 to 2015 and that Kardashian's earnings from the game during that period surpassed $40 million. By then, it had been downloaded over 40 million times.

The mobile game continued to perform well for Glu in the next several years.

A previous report from mobile market research firm Sensor Tower stated that the app was still generating revenue of around $8.1 million for the company in one quarter of 2018 alone.

But even without her mobile game, Kardashian has plenty of other sources of income.

Forbes estimated her current net worth at $1.7 billion, primarily attributed to her stake in Skims, her shapewear business now valued at $4 billion.

Additionally, Kardashian has earned from her cosmetics and fragrance company KKW Beauty, her skincare collection SKKN By Kim, and her TV and acting roles, including the ongoing Hulu show "The Kardashians" and "American Horror Story" Season 12.
