WATCH: Anderson Cooper Had Multiple Giggle Fits During CNN New Year's Eve Coverage
Anderson Cooper found himself in fits of laughter during his New Year's Eve Times Square special with Andy Cohen Sunday.
The laughter erupted when musician John Mayer joined the CNN telecast from the quirky Tokyo cat bar Cats in the Box.
Mayer looked stoic while surrounded by tabby cats as a concerned Cohen commented on the establishment's sanitary conditions.
"I believe it passes all health codes, so I think it's just fine," the musician told the two hosts with a deadpan expression, eliciting giggles from Cooper.
The "Body Is a Wonderland" hitmaker went on to describe the scene, as the CNN anchor struggled to control his laughter.
Cohen addressed his co-host's giggle fits, joking, "Just the shot of the cat's a*s in your face is making him delirious."
Mayer, unfazed, continued to share details about the cat bar as he fed one of the felines with a "gelatinous paste."
Another moment that sent Cooper into a giggle fit occurred during a game of "Never Have I Ever" with Neil Patrick Harris, during which the hosts asked if the actor had ever hooked up with a fan.
Cooper burst into laughter when Harris took a sip from his Red Bull and quipped, "If they weren't before, they were after. You know what I'm talking about?"
Social media was quick to react to Cooper's infectious laughter, with viewers expressing delight at his uncontrollable giggles.
One person tweeted, "Anderson Cooper is killing me right meow (sic) with John Mayer at the cat bar," capturing the sentiment shared by many.
"If I can enjoy anything in 2024 as much as Anderson is enjoying seeing John Mayer at a cat cafe.... Oh my god. Giggle Monster," another person wrote.
"I need Anderson's giggle on my daily playlist....in all seriousness," one person commented on Instagram.
Another Instagram user wrote, "Anderson lives vicariously through Andy's naughtiness. I love his giggles!"
The laughter-filled evening marked a departure from the previous year when Cooper and Cohen opted for a more sober celebration.
This year, the two co-hosts resumed their tradition of taking shots during the countdown to midnight.
