‘Five Nights At Freddy’s 2’ Already In The Works; Hutcherson Says Filming Could Happen ‘Soon’
During an event for his new action movie "The Beekeeper," American actor Josh Hutcherson shared that his 2023 horror video game adaptation film "Five Nights At Freddy's" is getting a sequel, and it's "looking good."
"I know they're in the process right now of nailing down the story, and they want to get going as soon as possible," said the 31-year-old actor, per Variety.
He also shared that it was "so cool and phenomenal" to be a part of the film, especially since the fans are "amazing and die-hard."
"I'm dying to get back on set. Emma Tammi, our director, was fantastic, and it was such a fun world to play in. I'm excited to see what they are knowing next," Hutcherson added.
Blumhouse Production has yet to announce more details about "Five Nights At Freddy's 2."
The first "Five Nights At Freddy's" film follows the story of a troubled young man named Mike (Josh Hutcherson) caring for his 10-year-old sister Abby (Piper Rubio).
After getting fired and being desperate for a new job, he began working as a night security guard at the abandoned theme restaurant named Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria.
As soon as he starts working there, Mike discovers that Freddy's is not what it seems.
The film was helmed by writer-director Emma Tammi and writers Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. It was produced by Jason Blum and Cawthon.
Aside from Hutcherson and Rubio, Elizabeth Lail, Kat Conner Sterling, Mary Stuart Masterson and Matthew Lillard were also part of the cast.
While waiting for "Five Nights At Freddy's 2," the first film can be watched online via Vudu Fandango, Xfinity, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube Movies, Microsoft and Verizon.
Meanwhile, physical copies of the film can be purchased on Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Walmart.
Meanwhile, Hutcherson's new film "The Beekeeper" is scheduled to hit the theaters on Friday.
"The Beekeeper" is an R-rated action-thriller film that follows "one man's brutal campaign for vengeance." He is a former operative of a powerful organization known as "Beekeepers."
The film is helmed by director David Ayer and written by Kurt Wimmer.
Jason Statham, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, Phylicia Rashad and Jeremy Irons also star in the film.
