Natalie Portman Fuels Divorce Rumors After Attending Golden Globes Sans Wedding Band
Natalie Portman's attendance at the Golden Globes fueled the speculations that she might officially end her marriage to Benjamin Millepied.
The "Annihilation" actress wowed the red carpet at the Golden Globes Sunday wearing a Dior Haute Couture dress. She arrived solo and noticeably left her wedding ring at home, Page Six reported.
The outlet noted that Portman last wore her wedding band some time ago. She didn't wear the jewelry when she was spotted out and about in August 2023. She also ditched the bling when she stepped out for a stroll with her husband the following month.
Page Six reached out to Portman's camp but did not immediately receive a response.
In her recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, she seemingly hinted at their separate living situation. The "May December" star said she "lives in Paris with her two children," but she did not mention her spouse.
A report in the French magazine Voici in June 2023 alleged Millepied had been spending time with 25-year-old climate activist Camille Étienne. However, unnamed sources told Page Six and People at the time that the couple were still together and working on the issue privately.
"They have not split and are trying to work things out. Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family," one unnamed source close to Portman and Millepied told Page Six.
Another unnamed insider told People they were still together despite his alleged mistake.
"He knows he made an enormous mistake, and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together," the insider claimed. "Natalie is incredibly private and has no intention of playing this out in the media. Her biggest priority is protecting her children and their privacy."
However, in August of the same year, another anonymous insider told Us Weekly that Portman and Millepied had separated after 11 years of marriage.
"After news of his affair came out, they've been trying to work on their marriage but are currently on the outs," the tipster claimed.
On their 11th wedding anniversary on Aug. 4, the Oscar winner reignited the speculations about their marriage when she was spotted out and about for an Angel City FC event in Sydney, Australia, without her wedding band.
Portman and Millepied haven't released an official statement about their marriage status.
