Melania Trump Receives Support From Netizens After Announcing Mom's Passing
Melania Trump is mourning her mom's passing, and her fans and supporters sympathize with her.
The former first lady recently took to X, formerly Twitter, to announce the death of her mother, Amalija Knavs. The ex-FLOTUS had been noticeably missing from Donald Trump's Christmas and New Year's gatherings because she was reportedly with her mom, who was sick at the time.
On Tuesday night, Melania confirmed that her mom had died. In her post, she paid tribute to Amalija, calling her a "strong woman."
"It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Amalija," Melania wrote.
"Amalija Knavs was a strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth and dignity. She was entirely devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson and son-in-law. We will miss her beyond measure and continue to honor and love her legacy."
Melania's post was flooded with supportive messages from her followers and supporters who extended their prayers and "condolences."
"My deepest and heartfelt condolences on the loss of your mother, Mrs. Trump. All of us are lifting you and your beautiful family up in our prayers. I know she loves you and watches over you from heaven. May she rest in peace. Fly high," one commented.
"My deepest condolences, dear. Please know that she is proudly watching you from heaven. Her legacy will live through you because she raised an amazing daughter," another added. "Lord, we know that You are the God who comforts us. I pray that You provide a time of comfort to Melania and her family, whose hearts are hurting right now."
"Prayers for you Melania and your precious family," a third person wrote.
"We're sorry for your loss, our beautiful FLOTUS. We pray that you receive strength during this difficult time as you mourn the loss of your mother. We love you!" a different user stated.
The former president previously confirmed that his mother-in-law was sick. In a video shared on X taken on New Year's Eve, Trump said his wife, Melania, "sends her love" as she couldn't attend the gathering because she was with Amalija.
"But she's been very ill, so I just want to say 'hello' to the first lady [Melania] -- we just spoke, down in Miami, great hospital -- and hopefully they'll be ok, but it's a tough one, it's a very tough one," Trump said of his mother-in-law's condition.
"We just want to wish Amalija that she gets better as quickly as possible," he added.
