Critics Choice Awards Served ‘Pizza In A Bag’ To Celebrities: 'Absolutely Revolting'
Critics Choice Awards 2024 guests were served with an unexpected choice of dinner at the awards show.
After last week's Golden Globes, the awards season continued on Sunday to honor the best Hollywood actors and productions for 2023. But this time, guests didn't seem pleased with the food served to them at the recent event.
Film producer Jen D Angelo of the 2023 American comedy film "Quiz Lady" described the pizza in a bag served at the event as "absolutely revolting 3D printed a** pizza."
In a series of Instagram Stories, she first shared a photo of an envelope and asked her followers to guess what was inside.
After uploading more photos from the awards show and their win as Best Movie Made for Television, she finally revealed that the food in the envelope was a pizza.
Instagram account @oprahdaily also posted a sneak peek at the awarding event, where the stars were served pizza in a bag.
In the video, Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks and Oprah Winfrey were captured having different reactions to the served dinner.
Brooks grabbed hers with a smile while her co-star Henson looked as if she was examining the pizza pocket she received.
Meanwhile, Barrino and Winfrey politely declined the dinner offered to them.
The "American Idol" alum joked, "Where are the lamb chops?" before laughing.
On the other hand, the American talk show host pointed to her lips and said, "I'm not messing up my lips!"
Oprah Daily's reel has since garnered over 1.5 million views on the social media platform and a lot of reactions from netizens on Instagram.
"Pizza? Seriously? As an event planner, I'm mortified," commented one user.
"No, no, no. This is terrible. Did they get juice boxes too?" quipped a second user.
"That's disgraceful. Serving them pizza at a prestigious award show while they are wearing expensive ball gowns," wrote someone else.
"Sidenote, this is really disrespectful. If I had to pay for wardrobe, makeup, transportation and my time, you can't give me pizza in a bag," opined another.
The Instagram video was reposted by Pop Base on X, garnering more reactions from netizens.
"I'm crying. They [are] really serving these high-end celebrities at a high-end event pizza in a bag. I get better food at my school cafeteria," tweeted one X user.
"I didn't know the Critics Choice Association was [that] broke," commented a different user.
"Pizza in a bag is so funny, I'm sorry. Critics Choice [is] never beating the second-class awards show allegations," said another netizen.
