Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Should Watch Out For Queen Camilla's 'Perfect Revenge': PR Expert
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been warned about Queen Camilla's potential revenge after everything the duke said about his stepmother.
Denise Palmer Davies, brand expert and director of Borne Media, spoke with the Sun about the Queen's new podcast "The Reading Room," which launched on Jan. 8. According to the PR expert, it could be Queen Camilla's revenge on the couple.
"If her podcast does well, and I am sure it will, she will have achieved in an area they so desperately wanted to succeed in, then that is the perfect revenge," Davies told The Sun. "I bet Meghan, in particular, will be livid over the whole thing and probably a bit embarrassed that hers fell at the first hurdle."
Prince Harry and Markle signed a multi-million deal with Spotify in 2020 to do podcasts. The Duchess of Sussex launched her podcast "Archetypes" in 2022, but it wasn't renewed for another season.
King Charles' wife Camilla, an avid reader, scored the podcast after her successful online book club. Royal expert Jennie Bond, English journalist and former royal correspondent for the BBC for 14 years, was convinced that Camilla's podcast would be as successful as her online book club.
"In a hectic world so dominated by short-form social media messages -- and giving us attention spans of a gnat -- it is a noble aim to encourage children and adults to enjoy a good, long read," Bond said.
"That's what this is about, not money, not campaigning or railing against the world, just a gentle encouragement to enjoy great storytelling."
The podcast sprang from Camilla's passion project, which was reading, so Bond does not think Prince Harry's stepmom would use it to take her revenge on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Bond even believes the royal couple from Montecito didn't cross Camilla's mind when she decided to do the podcast project.
"I very much doubt that she gives Meghan much thought -- she is far too busy making a resounding success of her new role," she said.
"While I don't think Camilla will expend much energy pondering about Meghan, I imagine Meghan might look quite enviously across the pond at how Camilla has adapted to royal life, made a success of her role and is increasingly admired by the public."
Bond added that the more the people got to know Queen Camilla, the more they appreciated her.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe, award-winning journalist and former royal editor for The Sun for over a decade, also previously said the Sussexes should learn how to win the public again from Camilla.
"There's always a way back. Look at Camilla -- she was the most hated person in Britain, and now she's the Queen. If that's possible, anything's possible," Larcombe said about Prince Harry and Markle's possible return to the royal fold.
Prince Harry didn't mince his words when it came to Camilla in his memoir "Spare." He called the King's wife the "villain" in his parents' marriage and even said she was "dangerous."
Prince Harry also alleged in his book that Camilla "sacrificed me on her personal PR altar." He claimed he and his big brother, Prince William, begged their dad not to marry her for fear she would become their "wicked stepmother."
