Is Trump Bleeding? Mysterious Red Marks Spotted On Ex-POTUS Hand During Court Appearance
Former President Donald Trump was spotted sporting mysterious red marks on his right hand Wednesday, sparking various online theories.
The odd red splotches on Trump's hand became visible as he waved at supporters while leaving Trump Tower in New York City to attend a court date nearby, as seen in photos circulating on social media.
The marks were described as "cuts" by the Daily Mail, but it is unclear if Trump was actually injured and what caused the red dots.
Photos from the ex-POTUS' Atkinson, New Hampshire, campaign stop showed that he had no such marks Tuesday evening, Business Insider noted.
The red marks ignited a flurry of online speculation and conspiracy theories about their origin.
Theories ranged from red ink on top-secret documents to burns from attempting to curl his hair before his court appearance.
One user on X, formerly Twitter, suggested that Trump's alleged fake suntan was "rubbing off," while another speculated that the splotches were the aftermath of "too many jelly doughnuts."
Some suggested the possibility of anxiety or an underlying medical condition like syphilis or arthritis.
"Anxiety can manifest itself in skin picking," one person wrote, while another asked, "Arthritis?"
But others believed that Trump may have just gotten ink or sauce on his hand.
The New York Post reported that Trump no longer had red marks on his hand by the time he arrived at Manhattan federal court for his second defamation trial involving columnist E. Jean Carroll.
Last year, Trump was found liable for both defaming the magazine writer in 2022 and sexually abusing her in the '90s, but the second trial centers on a different set of comments made by the former president.
Carroll, who is seeking $10 million in damages, testified against him in her second trial, accusing Trump of sexually assaulting her and damaging her reputation by calling her a "whack job."
During the trial, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan admonished Trump for his conduct, which included slamming his hand on the counsel's table.
Trump's lawyer, Alina Habba, also faced a rebuke from Judge Kaplan after attempting to delay the trial for the former president to attend his mother-in-law's funeral.
On Tuesday, Trump alleged on Truth Social that the case was an "attempted extortion" based on "fabricated lies and political shenanigans."
