Juliano Krue Valdi Tapped To Play A Young Michael Jackson In Upcoming Biopic
Juliano Krue Valdi has been cast in Michael Jackson biopic, 'Michael,' portraying the iconic singer during his early career with the Jackson 5.
The 9-year-old, who will share the title role with Jaafar Jackson, showcases impressive dance skills, including a ready-for-the-big-screen moonwalk. He has gained a substantial following on Instagram, sharing videos of himself dancing to MJ's hits and wearing Jackson-inspired clothing.
In a statement, Valdi expressed the significance of playing young Michael Jackson. "This opportunity is really important to me because Michael Jackson is the King of Pop, and he is very special in my heart."
The upcoming biopic, directed by Antoine Fuqua, will aim to provide a "riveting and honest portrayal" of the "brilliant yet complicated" superstar, covering his childhood stardom with the Jackson 5 to his solo career and the controversies he faced.
Fuqua, 58, highlighted the emphasis of Valdi as young Michael Jackson, commending his undeniable, raw talent. The award-winning director also pointed out the remarkable resemblance between Jaafar Jackson and his uncle, underscoring their uncanny similarities in sound and dance.
Filming for 'Michael' is set to commence next week. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on April 18, 2025.
