Jimmy Kimmel Jokes Donald Trump Exhibits Neurosyphilis Symptoms During Show Monologue [Watch]
Jimmy Kimmel has joked about former President Donald Trump in a recent episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
Kimmel took aim at the businessman-turned-politician after the latter was spotted with what seemed like bloody hands last week. The sighting revived an old rumor that Trump might have syphilis, which the TV host made fun of.
"Trump has had to deal with a viral moment that was embarrassing even for him," he said. "This is a photo, you can see Trump waving his way in the court, and if you look closely, you can see red spots on his hand, which many people noted is a common symptom of syphilis. Which could mean Donald Trump has syphilis or syphilis has Donald Trump."
Kimmel recounted Trump's previous interview when he was single in the 90s, saying his "personal Vietnam" was avoiding STDs. He concluded that if the politician has syphilis, then "the only Vietnam he avoided was Vietnam." He added that Trump might have "neurosyphilis."
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NIH), neurosyphilis is an infection that affects the brain, coverings of the brain, or the spinal cord. Neurosyphilis is the result of the central nervous system invasion of the bacteria that causes syphilis, a sexually transmitted disease.
"While I am not a doctor, I thought that as a public service, it might make sense for us to go through the list of symptoms," he continued before showing a list of telltale signs of neurosyphilis, which include mood swings, memory loss, impairment judgment, confusion, delusions, delirium, mania, psychosis and seizures.
It included footage of Trump seemingly exhibiting those symptoms. For instance, to show his mood swings, Kimmel featured Trump seemingly sounding furious while asking to turn off the lights because they were too bright; or Trump staring at the sun without any sunglasses to point out his poor judgment.
Trump's mysterious bloody hand previously sparked a health scare, with some speculating he could have syphilis or other conditions. However, insiders close to Trump claimed it was a simple paper cut, and the ex-POTUS accidentally spread the blood around his hand.
Trump was photographed later that day, and his hand was clean. There were no signs of abrasions or injury. He was also seen the following day with Melania Trump and Barron Trump for his mother-in-law Amalija Knavs' funeral, and he appeared fine, except that he was visibly mourning and looked "much more vulnerable than usual."
At one point, Barron was caught on camera reaching out to him, which body language expert Judi James said was an attempt from the teenager to comfort his father.
