The 2024 Oscar nominations were officially announced on Tuesday, with "Oppenheimer" and "Poor Things" leading the pack with 13 and 11 nominations, respectively.

Here are some of the film teams and stars' reactions to their Oscar nods:

1. "Poor Things"

Everyone at the Element Pictures headquarters was cheering and clapping after the nominations for director Yorgos Lanthimos and screenwriter Tony McNamara's film "Poor Things" were announced.

"Poor Things" was nominated in 11 categories: Best Picture, Best Director, adapted Screenplay, Original Score, Cinematography, Costume Design, Film Editing, Production Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Actress (Emma Stone) and Best Supporting Actor (Mark Ruffalo).

2. "Anatomy of a Fall"

The team behind "Anatomy of a Fall" was jumping and in tears after the French legal drama thriller directed by Justine Triet got nominated for Best Picture, Best Actress (Sandra Hüller), Best Director, Original Screenplay and Film Editing.

Triet's Best Director nomination makes her the eighth woman ever to be nominated in the category.

3. "Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó"


Taiwanese-American filmmaker Sean Wang was with his team and grandmothers when the nomination for "Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó" for Best Documentary Short Film was announced.

In the heartwarming reaction video, everybody jumped and screamed while the titular grandmothers, Nǎi Nai and Wài Pó, clapped and cheered.

4. "The Last Repair Shop"

"The Last Repair Shop" also received an Oscar nomination for Best Documentary Short Film, alongside "Nǎi Nai & Wài Pó," "The ABCs of Book Banning," "The Barber of Little Rock" and "Island in Between."

The team behind the documentary short film celebrated their Oscar nod with hugs, claps, cheers and lots of smiles.

5. "Robot Dreams"

Arcadia Motion Pictures recorded the moment Oscar announced the nominees for Best Animated Feature Film.

After the Spanish-French animated film "Robot Dreams" was mentioned next to "The Boy and the Heron," "Elemental" and "Nimona," director Pablo Berger and his team jumped from their seats out of happiness.

"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" was also nominated in the same category.

6. Becky G

Becky G's song "The Fire Inside" from the biographical comedy-drama film "Flamin' Hot" was nominated for Oscar 2024's Best Original Song category.

"Thank you so much to Diane and Eva for allowing me to be a part of this beautiful project because this film, this team, this song, represents something so close to my heart... This is one of my dreams coming true in front of the world," said a teary-eyed Becky G in a video she posted on Instagram.

7. "Godzilla Minus One"

X user Koji Matsunaga tweeted the "Godzilla Minus One" team's reaction to their Oscar nomination and wrote, "I was in tears. It's a great achievement for Japanese VFX. I was told that I could upload it."

The Japanese epic kaiju film directed, written and with visual effects by Takashi Yamazaki was nominated in the Best Visual Effects category.

8. Jeffrey Wright

Actor Jeffrey Wright was in tears after receiving his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Thelonious "Monk" Ellison in the comedy-drama film "American Fiction."

"The first person I acknowledged was my mom... She and I had a moment... My mom passed a little over a year before I got the script for this," he said, wishing his mom could have joined him to celebrate his Oscar nod.

9. Colman Domingo

"Rustin" star Colman Domingo recalled the moment he knew about his Best Actor nomination.

After picking up his phone and reading a text saying, "Congratulations, Oscar nominee," he just put his phone down because the message didn't sink in.

But when he heard his name come up, his husband started crying, and he ended up bursting into tears, as well.

10. Billie Eilish and FINNEAS

Billie Eilish and her brother FINNEAS were interviewed via a phone call by "Good Morning America" after their song "What Was I Made For" from "Barbie" was nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars.

"We are feeling so good and excited and honored... This is crazy," Billie said.

Meanwhile, FINNEAS said, "We just woke up because it's 5 a.m. in L.A. It feels a little bit like we're dreaming."
