21 Savage has confirmed that the 'American Dream' trailer is a form of "parody" art.

In a recent interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, which aired on Wednesday, the host delved into a discussion about 21 Savage's upcoming "movie." However, 21 Savage, born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, corrected the description during the conversation.

The rapper clarified to Sharpe, "Nah, that was a parody."

In response, Sharpe quickly argued that 21's life would make a captivating film.

"I feel like it could be one day," the "Bank Account" rapper replied. He acknowledged potential criticism, saying, "They would hate on it now though. Because they gon' be like, 'What the f**k 21 Savage deserve a story for, a movie about him for? What he did?' You know how they do."

In line with earlier reports, the trailer released ahead of 21 Savage's new album featured Donald Glover and Caleb McLaughlin portraying 21 at different ages. Jabari Banks took on the role of Metro Boomin in the clip.

The clip included additional appearances by Natasha Lyonne, Young Mazino, Druski, Victoria Pedretti, Chad Lindberg, and Gail Bean.

In 21's Club Shay Shay interview, his successful creative partnership with Drake was a focal point. The two artists kicked off the It's All a Blur tour last year. When questioned about the possibility of "experimenting" with his sound, similar to Drake's evolution, the 31-year-old expressed his openness to it, but noted that he would consider such changes only when he reaches a level comparable to Drake's.

In another segment of the interview, 21 Savage, known for his appreciation of R&B, was tasked with naming his Mount Rushmore (plus one) picks for the genre. His selections included Usher, SWV, Beyoncé, "the boy who in jail" — referring to R. Kelly — and Monica.
