Teyana Taylor Confirmed To Portray Dionne Warwick In Her Upcoming Biopic: 'Been A Long Time Coming!'
Teyana Taylor confirmed her latest acting venture portraying music icon Dionne Warwick in an upcoming biopic!
On Wednesday, Taylor, 33, took to Instagram to announce the new role with a side-by-side picture of herself next to the trailblazer. In the picture, both singers sported black short hairstyles and white tops.
The undeniable resemblance between Taylor and Warwick, 83, is striking, mirroring not only in their appearance but also in their significant contributions to the music of their respective generations.
The "Bare Wit Me" singer expressed her admiration for Warwick on Instagram. "Ms. Dionne Warwick... A woman of great stature, poise, and elegance, with a fiery spirit - Realizing I was looking at my future self," she began. "My reflection without a mirror."
Her celebratory caption continued, acknowleding Warwick's impact on culture. "Your music and social involvement have enhanced the culture. Your soul and artistry serve as an example of not only resilience and strength but of faith and purpose," she wrote.
"Being able to learn and study from one of the greats like, @therealdionnew has allowed me to learn a lot about myself and the woman I am today," the post continued. in February 2021, Warwick confirmed her upcoming biopic to 'Entertainment Weekly,' revealing a series about her legacy was "in the works."
Although a shoot date has been confirmed by Warwick's son Damon Warwick, a title and release date has not been released.
