Travis Kelce's Mom Donna Gifted Taylor Swift The Athlete's Mini Jersey Ring
Taylor Swift received a present from her boyfriend Travis Kelce's mom, Donna Kelce.
During the Chiefs vs. Ravens playoff Sunday, Swift cheered on her boyfriend while wearing symbolic baubles, including an EB & Co. ring ($14) featuring a miniature model of the tight end's jersey. Emily Bordner, a Kansas City business owner, said they shipped some items to Donna and hoped she would share the accessory with the "You Belong With Me" singer.
"We gifted Donna some [styles]. We know that she loved our earrings," Bordner told KMBC.
"We wanted to gift her even more Kelce-themed products. So, we sent those to her, and then we were hoping that she would give them to Taylor. And she did."
Swift was photographed wearing the number 87 ring to the game, and Bordner admitted they were not expecting to see the Grammy winner rocking their accessory until the store manager texted her.
"I was like, oh my God, this is not possible. This isn't true. What's happening?" Bordner said. "It was just like right on her little pointer finger. And I'm like, Holy moly, what just happened? This is insane."
Swift's sighting with the accessory made the brand even more popular. According to Bordner, their sales have since increased.
"It immediately went on fire. Everything is insane. The site apparently slowed down because there were so many people on it. We sold out of things immediately. It was just absolute chaos, but it was very exciting. So, this is definitely a once in a lifetime thing," she said.
Based on the listing, the ring is adjustable and low maintenance. It was designed to be loved and worn. However, the brand suggests removing it before swimming, sweating, showering, or exercising. The item can also be tarnished by the skin's natural pH or other materials like perfumes, lotions, or hair products.
Meanwhile, there were rumors that Donna wasn't a fan of her son's girlfriend because of her response when she asked about her first meeting with Swift. Kelce's mom said their romance was "fairly new" and Swift was "okay," prompting many to speculate it was a hint she wasn't a fan of the pop star.
But in an interview for WSJ. Magazine's December/January cover story, Donna clarified that she approved of Swift because she made her son "happier."
"I can tell you this," Donna said. "He's happier than I've seen him in a long time .... God bless him. He shot for the stars!"
