NSYNC Won’t Drop New Music, Just Backup In Justin Timberlake’s New Album
The excitement of NSYNC fans got cut short just a day after Justin Timberlake teased the possibility of a new song release from the band.
Unnamed sources within RCA Records told TMZ that the "Trolls" star's recent tease referencing his former bandmates during an interview with Kelly Clarkson wasn't about a new song from the group.
It was reportedly about Justin's NSYNC bandmates JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick recording background vocals for his upcoming album, "Everything I Thought It Was."
Justin is reportedly preparing for his upcoming world tour, and there are no plans for an NSYNC reunion on stage, per the tabloid.
During his guest appearance on the "American Idol" alum's show, the "Mirrors" singer talked about his former bandmates and their recent reunion to record the single "Better Place" for the animated musical comedy film "Trolls Band Together."
"We've been in the studio, so there may be a little something in the future, too," he revealed.
The revelation came after Clarkson asked Timberlake if there was anything left that he wanted to do.
After sharing how much he loves being in the studio and the creative process that comes with it, he said, "As it pertains to harmonies, I spent some time with four other guys doing a lot of harmonies."
The 43-year-old artist's new album, "Everything I Thought It Was," is scheduled for release on March 15.
The album's pre-release track, "Selfish," was released on Jan. 25. It is Justin's first solo single after almost six years, following the release of "SoulMate" in July 2018.
"I worked for a long time on this album, and I ended up with 100 songs," Justin recently told Zane Lowe in an interview for Apple Music 1.
He continued, "So narrowing them down to 18 was a thing, and then, yeah, I'm really excited about this album. I think every artist probably says this, but this is my best work."
The actor-singer continued, "I think there are moments that are incredibly honest, but also, there's a lot of f***ing fun on this album."
