WATCH: Comedian Larry David Assaults Elmo On Live TV, Dad Louie Threatens To Sue
Larry David and "Sesame Street's" Elmo had a brief crossover moment during their separate interviews as guests on NBC's "Today," which brought horror to the show's hosts.
Elmo came with his dad, Louie, as guests on "Today" on Thursday after he recently went viral for checking on everybody on X, formerly Twitter.
The "Seinfeld" star was also on set for a separate interview.
As hosts Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Craig Melvin started to turn to Al Roker for a weather report, David crashed the set Elmo was in and groped his face.
While the comedian was assaulting the "Sesame Street" character, the hosts covered their mouths in shock.
"Let's get back on the couch and talk about how you're feeling," Elmo told David as the latter walked away.
"Somebody had to do it," the comedian responded.
Meanwhile, Elmo's dad was heard saying, "Ask permission before you touch people, Larry."
The Muppet continued, "I'm gonna sue him for assault," making the hosts laugh.
Shortly after, hosts Guthrie and Kotb urged the "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star to apologize to Elmo during his separate sit-down interview.
The hosts asked him if there was anything he wanted to say to Elmo from his heart.
"From where? What organ are you talking about?" David quipped before beginning his apology.
"Elmo, I just want to apologize. I'm really sorry," he said, trying his best not to laugh.
Meanwhile, the Muppet responded, "Thank you, Larry. Elmo accepts your apology."
Elmo recently went viral for tweeting: "Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?"
His tweet has since gained over 18,000 responses, 57,000 retweets, 146,000 hearts and 18,000 bookmarks.
