Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Have A 'Bunch' Of Netflix Projects Lined Up, Exec Reveals
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are gearing up to release more projects with Netflix.
On Wednesday, Netflix's Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria shared details about the upcoming projects from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during the Next on Netflix event.
The Netflix exec revealed that Prince Harry and Markle have a "bunch" of works in development, including a movie, a scripted series and a couple of unscripted shows, according to Hello! magazine.
She noted that these projects are currently in the "very early" stages of development but expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming film, describing it as "great."
The announcement comes weeks after Markle teased her and Prince Harry's new projects during a red-carpet interview at Variety's Power of Women event in November 2023.
At the time, the duchess hinted at the exciting lineup they have in store for their audience, telling Variety: "[I want to make] things that make people feel -- I was going say 'good,' but it's more than that, things that make people feel something, right? And feel a sense of community."
"But we have so many exciting things on the slate. I can't wait until we can announce them, but I'm just really proud of what we're creating," she added. "My husband is loving it, too. It's really fun."
Since signing a multiyear deal with Netflix in 2020, Markle and Prince Harry have released three projects with the streaming giant.
Their 2022 docuseries, "Harry & Meghan," which offered an intimate look at their lives and departure from the royal family, became the biggest documentary debut week in Netflix history.
The couple also served as executive producers of the documentary series "Live to Lead," which featured activists such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Greta Thunberg.
In August 2023, Prince Harry debuted his "Heart of Invictus," a docuseries that followed the participants of the 2020 Invictus Games in The Hague, the Netherlands.
Last year, writer Carley Fortune confirmed that the Sussexes' Archewell Productions was adapting her romance novel, "Meet Me at the Lake," for Netflix.
"I'm so thrilled about working with Netflix and Archewell to bring 'Meet Me at the Lake' to the screen," she said in a statement to the Independent.
"Will and Fern's love story is dear to my heart, and I can't imagine a more perfect partnership," Fortune continued, referencing the protagonists, whose story shares similarities with Prince Harry and Markle.
