Shaquille O'Neal Warns Against Men Opening Up To Women: 'They're Gonna Throw It Back In Your Face'
Shaquille O'Neal seemingly ignited a social media debate after his comments on why men venting to women about their problems is a big no-no went viral.
During the Jan. 24 episode of 'The Big Podcast with Shaq,' the former Los Angeles Lakers baller, alongside comedian Kountry Wayne and sportscaster Adam Lefkoe, asserted that men should refrain from venting to women as they might "throw it back in your face" later.
Lefkoe, 37, asked the TNT NBA commentator about the last time he was vulnerable with a woman while discussing topics like money and relationships.
"Open up to a woman? Never," O'Neal, 51, said. "... Because once you do, whenever something go down, they're gonna throw it back in your face. That's why. So, you can't ever."
Kountry Wayne shared his perspective during the discussion, asserting that women might not genuinely want to hear men complain when they're feeling down.
According to Wayne, 36, revealing vulnerability might lead to future judgment. He emphasized the importance of not letting anyone see a man down, stating that even if a woman strokes his ego, she will remember that moment — a viewpoint O'Neal agreed with.
In response, Lefkoe questioned whether there's ever someone trustworthy enough to open up to.
Last year, the 4-time NBA champion admitted how he squandered away relationships with "two perfect women."
"I had two perfect women and I messed it up," he said, according to the New York Post, on singer's Monica's Apple Music show, 'Mo Talk Radio.' "My first one was my baby mother, Arnetta, and then I met Shaunie. Shaunie was also a perfect woman, and I messed it up.
He continued: "We were young and always just doing dumb stuff. But, the good thing about our relationship is that they forgave me, and we have a good relationship now. But when you ask me about the perfect woman - I had two perfect women and I messed it up, just by, you know, being dumb."
