DaniLeigh Sentenced To Five Years Probation After DUI Hit-And-Run
DaniLeigh was sentenced to five years of probation from charges dating back to May 2023 when she plead no contest in a hit-and-run case resulting in serious bodily injury.
In May 2023, the 29-year-old was arrested in Florida after a serious car accident involving a person riding on a moped near Miami Beach.
Witnesses allege the songwriter was driving her grey Mercedes-Benz G550 at a high speed, swerving down the road before she hit someone, but allegedly kept driving.
The arresting officer mentioned he had to honk several times before she stopped her vehicle. When the "Easy" singer was finally apprehended by police, they reporttedly found an open bottle of alcohol in the vehicle.
Records obtained by 'XXL' report she failed both a field sobriety and Breathalyzer test — blowing nearly twice the legal limit.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated for kidney lacerations and a spinal fracture.
She was reportedly faced with charges including driving under the influence and property damage. Other charges included fleeing the scene of a crime, which will be dropped under the agreement that she complete the half-decade long probation, without any violations.
Michael Catalano, DaniLeigh's defense attorney, said in a statement to the outlet: "She wants to say, 'I'm really sorry about this,' but [the victim] has a lawyer and we never let people talk because it can be held against them. The truth of the matter is, the gentleman who got hurt, was at fault in the accident. She's very apologetic about it and feels horrible that somebody got hurt."
DaniLeigh's been keeping under wraps after being involved in various social media scandals surrounding 'Wild'n Out' and a reported brawl involving her child's father, DaBaby.
Although the singer hasn't announced any major projects or tour dates, she is currently promoting her latest single, 'Tasty.'
