Trump Says He Looks Like Elvis Presley; Shares Side-By-Side Photos
Does Donald Trump look like Elvis Presley?
That's what the former president asked his followers on Truth Social Saturday as he shared a photo of half of his face spliced with half of Presley's.
"For so many years, people have been saying that Elvis and I look alike. Now this pic has been going all over the place. What do you think?" Trump wrote alongside the image.
Several of his followers on the platform said they agreed Trump resembles the King of Rock and Roll.
One posted side-by-side photos of Presley and a younger Trump, writing: "Yes!"
Another shared a throwback video of the ex-president, claiming: "You definitely favor Elvis Presley in this clip, Sir!!"
Some pointed out that Trump and his wife Melania's 17-year-old son, Barron Trump, is a lookalike of his father.
However, a number of users on X, formerly Twitter, slammed the claims, with one person writing: "There is quite literally no resemblance."
An X poll that asked if Trump and Elvis looked alike also showed that the majority of users did not see any similarities between them.
Nearly 65% of the 877 respondents believed there was no similarity between Trump and the late musician, while only 27% thought otherwise.
This is not the first time Trump has brought up the alleged Elvis comparisons.
During a 2018 rally, he claimed people would tell him he resembled Presley when he was younger.
"I shouldn't say this, you'll say I'm very conceited, because I'm not, but other than the blonde hair when I was growing up they said I looked like Elvis. Can you believe it? I always considered that a great compliment," Trump told his supporters at the time, The Hill reported.
Notably, Trump posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the music icon during his presidency.
Trump has compared himself to several other cultural, historical, and religious figures over the years.
He previously likened himself to Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln and even the "Mona Lisa" painting.
During an interview on the Welsh-language TV channel S4C, the current Republican presidential frontrunner compared his followers to those who repeatedly visit the Louvre to admire the masterpiece, according to HuffPost.
Last year, Trump also posted an AI-generated image placing himself in George Washington's stead during the Revolutionary War, clad in colonial army regalia.
Trump also re-posted statements declaring himself second only to Jesus Christ and shared a video seemingly proclaiming God's chosen emissary on Earth.
In a three-minute clip posted to Truth Social on Jan. 5, a preacher asserts, "And on June 14, 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise and said: 'I need a caretaker.' So God gave us Trump."
