Nostradamus 2024 Prediction About King Charles’ Abdication Resurfaces; Netizens React
Nostradamus allegedly predicted that King Charles' reign would be short, according to reports.
Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that the King was diagnosed with "some form of cancer." It did not specifically mention what type of cancer, but the statement sparked concerns that the monarch could abdicate the throne, leading the netizens back to Nostradamus' 2024 predictions.
Many wondered if the prediction was accurate, while some were unsure what would happen next after the announcement.
"So is Nostradamus theory about to be accurate? About the King of England King Charles," one asked on X, formerly Twitter.
"Hearing King Charles illness made me think of Nostradamus prediction...The way the world is going, I believe anything is possible. We will have to wait & see," a second user added.
"As much as I hope that #KingCharles and ANYONE with cancer fights it and wins, Nostradamus predicted this was going to happen to the King!" a third user wrote.
"Nostradamus predicted King Charles would 'abdicate,'" another commented. A fifth user stated, "Nostradamus predicted this whole King Charles s**t."
"Let's see if it's true that what Nostradamus prophesied Charles would be forced to abdicate due to ill health and a stranger king will take the throne!" someone else suggested.
"Nostradamus don't play with the predictions. He said King Charles wasn't gonna rule long. Their comments on the shade room got me crying [and] laughing tho," another said.
Last December, the Irish Examiner reported on the 16th-century French astrologer's prediction for 2024 in his infamous work "Les Propheties," published in 1555. The book featured four-line verses or quatrains where he shared his deep insights of events up until 3797.
For the year 2024, Nostradamus said, "'King of the Isles' who has a controversial divorce 'driven out by force' and who is replaced by 'one who will have no mark of a king.'"
British author and Nostradamus commentator Mario Reading weighed in on the French astrologer's prediction. He believes that Nostradamus foresaw Queen Elizabeth's death and referred to King Charles as the "King of Isles." Based on his analysis, Nostradamus spoke about the current British monarch's abdication due to the "persistent attacks on both himself and his second wife," the Daily Mail reported.
Despite the various speculations that the King might abdicate, the Palace clarified that King Charles was hopeful to return to his duties.
"He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible," Buckingham Palace said in its announcement. "His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."
