WATCH: Miley Cyrus Wins Her First-Ever Grammy; Performs 'Flowers' Live On Stage
After over two decades of being active in the entertainment scene, Miley Cyrus finally won her first-ever Grammy.
The pop star received six nominations from The Recording Academy this year: Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Flowers," Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album for "Endless Summer Vacation" and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Thousand Miles" featuring Brandi Carlile.
Among the six nominations she received, she won Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit single "Flowers."
The two awards marked her first-ever Grammy wins.
"There's a story I wanna tell that sums up this moment. So there was a little boy that all he wanted was a butterfly. And so, his parents gave him a butterfly net, and he was so excited. He just went outside, out in the sun, and started swinging and swinging. But with no luck, he sat down on the ground, he finally let go, and he surrendered," Cyrus said in her acceptance speech for Best Pop Solo Performance.
"He was okay that he was not going to capture this beautiful butterfly. Right when he did, the butterfly came and landed right on the tip of his nose. And this song, 'Flowers,' is my butterfly. Thank you," she continued.
In between her two awards, Miley performed "Flowers" live on the Grammys stage in her sparkling silver dress.
"I didn't wanna leave you / I didn't wanna lie / Started to cry, but then remembered," she sang to the crowd then proceeded to tweak the lyrics.
"I just won my first Grammy," she quipped, drawing in cheers from the audience.
In the video Miley posted on her X account, Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey and other stars were captured dancing and jiving to her winning song.
Later that night, after her live performance of "Flowers," the songstress returned to the stage to accept her Best Record of the Year award.
"This award is amazing, but I really hope it doesn't change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday," she said in her speech.
She added, "Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular. So please don't think that this is important, even though it's very important, right, guys?"
After thanking her producers, team, fans and family, she ended her acceptance speech on an iconic note, saying, "I don't think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!"
Miley also took to X to continue her thank yous, highlighting that she celebrates her fans above all else.
"No award means as much to me as the years we've spent together. You SAW me before this recognition. I never needed it because I HAVE YOU," she wrote.
"A day doesn't pass that I don't spend at least a moment thanking heaven for sending me such supportive earth angels. I love you with my entire heart. To many more years together."
